Growing up, I always struggled with bad haircuts because I would randomly choose any nearby salon. I’ll always tell myself afterwards that maybe it wasn’t the right salon for my style, without realising that I’ve been going in that cycle for several years.
Sure, finding the right salon may involve trial and error (much like finding the right make-up artist), but it’s not a prerequisite. This is why we’ve decided to compile and review some of Kota Damansara’s best hair salons and highlight their respective pros and cons.

The Way Salon Hair Salon is one of our go-tos because of its accessible location. It’s minutes away from the Surian MRT Station, and a short walk away from Sunway Giza Mall, making it a great stopover before or after doing some shopping.
Another thing we love about this salon is the customer service, as they never fail to greet us with a smile. Furthermore, they offer free snacks such as tea, waffles and chips for waiting customers.
Their services are phenomenal as well. They offer haircuts for men, children, and women, and we’ve rarely seen a miss.
Recently, my sister and I availed of their hair colour package, and we were impressed with how meticulous and skilled the stylist was. We also appreciate the inclusions in the package, such as colour protection and hair treatment.
However, we do wish that they’d extend their business hours more because they’re only open five days a week, at the time of writing. Moreover, their interior looks and feels like your usual salon, but that’s just us nitpicking!

Change Hair Studio was highly praised by the regulars we surveyed, with the common consensus being how talented the stylists were. The salon has two senior stylists, both of whom are in the loop of the latest hairstyling trends.
Their meticulous and seamless service is a given, but what stood out for us was the stylists’ attentiveness. During the consultation and actual process, we noticed their keen eye, sharing valuable insights about how a planned look will turn out based on the client’s head shape, skin tone, etc.
Change Hair Studio also offers a full range of salon services, ranging from kids’ haircuts to colouring, wash and blow dry, etc. We were impressed with their digital perming, as the before and after photos they provided were night and day.
One pleasant surprise is that they offer a kids’ playroom—it’s a fantastic idea for busy moms in dire need of relaxation. Furthermore, we appreciate that they offer complimentary desserts as snacks.
Our only gripe is its slightly pricey rates, which we can understand to an extent since they’re located inside a mall. At the same time, however, we can’t blame some of their previous clients who found their rates overpriced.

32 Hair Studio is one of the trendiest salons you’ll find in Kota Damansara, featuring limewashed walls, minimalist decor, and stylish furniture. The same can be said of their services, as the stylists are in the loop of the trending styling techniques and looks.
One of their most in-demand services is their root perm. People with flat hair have praised this service because it naturally adds texture to the crown part of the hair.
They also offer the usual perming service, which their clients had nothing but praise for. These loyal customers noted how long-lasting their perming solutions are compared to other salons, and how naturally bouncy their curls became.
Their stylists are also praised by their regulars as being attentive. These professionals showcase this through the haircut design service, where they’ll brainstorm with the client to create a hairstyle that would enhance their natural looks.
The only downside of this salon is its long waiting times since there are only a limited number of stylists on deck. However, when we saw just how much they take their time with the consultation and the styling process itself, we immediately understood why.

The Kimarie Project is one of the most beautiful salons we’ve visited in Kota Damansara, featuring a cafe-like interior with dark finishes and wooden furniture. Decor aside, it’s a solid option because of its solid roster of stylists.
Our team has tried their haircut and styling services several times, and we haven’t been disappointed yet! In fact, we find their services relaxing, thanks to the seamless skills of their stylists!
Their selection of treatments is pretty solid as well, featuring services like anti-frizz and protein corrective treatments. We haven’t tried them ourselves, but we’ve interviewed several customers who did, and they highlighted how effective and relaxing these treatments were.
One thing they could improve upon is their offered services because, at the time of writing, they don’t offer extensions. Moreover, their colouring services could use some variety, like trendy styles such as balayage.

The service was amazing
“I booked a head spa. Member price is RM150 for 60 mins. The regular price is RM180. The service was amazing.
It started with hair brushing, then they used a thin comb to part the hair and applied some scalp product, and then they massaged my head and shoulder. It was very relaxing and I enjoyed it a lot. We were moved to the hair washing station for hair shampooing and conditioning.
I don’t remember much as I fell asleep. After they applied the hair conditioner, they started to massage my hands. The service ended with a pick-your-style blow dry.

Le Classic Hair Studio is a higher-end salon that offers a lavish interior for the ultimate pampering experience. If you’re a paying customer, they’ll provide you with a free dessert to keep you company while waiting.
Notably, they offer just about every service from haircuts to styling, colouring, rebonds, etc., but their biggest standout is their airwave perm.
At first, we didn’t buy the hype, but when their clients sent us their before and after photos, we were impressed! This type of perm creates much more natural-looking curls, making the overall hair look more voluminous.
They also offer a unique type of colouring technique where they’ll apply the treatment three times (before, during, and after the colour application). Usually, salons only apply the treatment after the colour application, which Le Classic believes is too late.
Of course, luxurious vibes and services such as these come at a steep price—plus, it doesn’t help that it’s located inside a mall. Nonetheless, if you’re looking to treat yourself on a pamper date, this is one of the places that can deliver in flying colours.
