Aunty Lee Cake & Pastries is one of the most popular cake shops in Perak and one that we also frequent.
One of the things we love about this shop is that they have a wide variety of options and flavors but all of them are really tasty! We also like that their cakes are always fluffy whenever we buy one from this shop.
Another thing we like about them is the designs of their cakes because they’re unique and they keep up with the trends, despite being in business for over 15 years!
No wonder why it has plenty of patrons who keep coming back to try a new flavor each time they buy a cake.
However, this cake shop is especially famous for tiramisu cakes, chocolate cakes, and fruit-flavored cakes like chocolate banana mousse cakes.
It also always amazes us that they’re consistent in putting only a light layer of cream on their cake and this cream is also very light.
But, for us, their quick in-store and delivery services also make them stand out as one of the best cake shops in Perak!
However, one of our concerns about Aunty Lee Cake & Pastries is that it only accepts in-store shopping and pickup and they don’t provide tables and chairs where patrons could dine.
We also noticed that they only serve full-sized cakes and they don’t offer slices. We hope that they’ll consider this in the future to provide their patrons with more options.

Petit Mary Patisserie French Cuisines is one of our favorite cake shops in Perak and it’s in our books for many reasons!
We particularly love this place because of their creative cake designs and shapes — from animal characters to cute and artistic creations. Impressive, right?
We also like that they also offer various sizes of cakes. They have small whole cakes, big cake sizes, and even sliced cakes for solo orders.
This cake shop also has mini cake rolls which are absolutely fluffy and tasty!
It’s a huge plus for us that they have a wide array of pastries, most of which are French, and these are also perfect to our liking!
However, the prices of their cakes and pastries are generally on the higher side so we recommend watching out for their promotions and discounts.
Overall, our experience in this cake shop is always pleasant because of the friendly staff and their amazing decor.
We love taking photos here because every inch of this cake shop is very Instagram-worthy — from the facade to the interior decor. We feel like we’re transported to a patisserie in Paris when we come here!

For cake enthusiasts like us, we’re always on the lookout for new and interesting cake flavors and this is one of the reasons why we like this cake shop.
We were initially surprised when we saw their cake menu because of the combination of flavors they have, like passion cheese, coffee cheese, and lemon cheese.
But, among their cake options, what we find most interesting is the longan cake because of its mild taste and the real longan fruit they put in.
We also like that they offer slices and whole cake options which come in half-a-kilogram and 1-kilogram choices.
La Promise Bakery & Cafe also has a cozy cafe vibe that we like. We think it’s a good place to hang out and just relax while catching up with friends or family.
Likewise, they accept payments through credit cards and debit cards which is perfect for those who don’t bring cash all the time.
However, we’re a bit disappointed as its space is quite small and the tables usually have to be shared among customers because there are only a few solo spots. There are also few tables here so they can accommodate only a small number of customers at a time.

“Plan to eat only one but because the cake taste so good and pretty ok price at rm 7 I accidentally ate 3. Longan cake was the most interesting with real longan fruit inside but is mild. Bake & Shake is a comfortable cafe and this is one of our go-to cake shops in Perak. One of the things we like about them is that they’re open until midnight, which means that you can go for a quick run here if you want to eat cake or other pastries at night.
It’s also hard to find a cake shop in Perak that offers customized cake services, and Shake & Bake is one of the few cake shops where you can order a customized cake. This is definitely a plus for us!
This is in addition to their wide selection of cakes which they already offer, including slice cakes, whole cakes, Swiss rolls and layers, and chiffon cakes.
We also love that this cake shop offers seasonal cakes for special occasions like Christmas and Valentine’s, among others. They’re available for only a limited time but it’s a must to grab them when they’re out!
However, we have some concerns about this cafe and cake shop.
The prices of their cakes are pretty expensive compared to other cake shops and you might not feel that this is worth your money. But, we’re sure that you would be able to appreciate the taste of their cakes as much as we do.
Also, we noticed that their staff needs training in handling orders and in serving their customers.
There’s always usually a long line on the counter upon placing their orders and sometimes, they have to wait a long time before their orders are served. We hope that they can improve their services in the future.

“Being a modern day outlet fanatic, I for one would definitely recommend this spot to all those who seek self indulgence after a long hiatus period. Came here for the first time, and surely wouldn’t be the last.
Array of intricately done pastries, mouth watering snacks, proportionately served dishes, artisan coffees and teas with a whole lot of frappe’s and drinks for the ones with sweet tooth, and not forgetting their signature chocolate cakes baked to perfection.
I casted my orders to my instinct and went with a serving of popcorn chicken, onion ring, a steaming cup of large latte and a slice of their top selling Chocolate Galore cake. What more can I say? Instantly hooked.

Pâtisserie BoutiQue is one of the cake shops in Perak that has a unique selection of cakes, which is primarily why it’s in our list of the best cake shops in the state.
We’re also so impressed with the twists that they put in their cakes to make them unique. These are some of the best and most scrumptious cakes we’ve tasted not only in Ipoh, but in the entire country!
One of the things their patrons (including us) rave about is their cheesecake, particularly their burnt chocolate cheesecake. This is definitely a must-try because it’s a one-of-a-kind variation of cheesecake that you can find in the country.
Plus, their cakes are also not too sweet unlike in other cake shops which we think put way too much sugar in their cakes. Because of this, their cakes are a perfect combination for their coffee selection too!
However, we noticed that some of the servings of their cake slices are small but the prices are more expensive than other cake shops. We’re hoping they’d reconsider this so their patrons would feel their money’s worth.
Nevertheless, our overall experience is always pleasant when we come to this cake shop because we also like the ambiance of this place. It’s cozy and casual so it’s a great place to chill or meet up with friends.

“Decided to rest in a cool room after 2 hrs of walk. A friend introduce this place. Famous for cheese cake and I’m a fan. I had the lychee cheesecake.
