Top 5 Bakeries in Kota Damansara You Need to Visit for Your Pastry Cravings

I’ve learned to adapt to this morning routine as an adult, which is great because it forces me out of bed to get breakfast and catch healthy sunlight at the same time. Furthermore, it allowed me to discover amazing bakeries in my township—hence this list!
Whether you’re looking for a new go-to place for your breakfast or afternoon tea, or simply want to find the best food in Kota Damansara, keep reading! We’ve handpicked and reviewed the best bakeries in Kota Damansara!

1. Ajwa Bakery

Products: Cakes, cookies, brownies, savoury buns, cheese tarts, cupcakes
Location: 15-G, Jalan Cecawi 6/33
Contact: +60 3-6142 2277
Business hours:
- Monday to Wednesday, Saturday: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Sunday: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Ajwa Bakery caught our attention because of their wide selection of customised cakes. They come in different sizes, colours, flavours, and themes, and they can even come with characters like Baby Shark and Batman.
We also appreciate that they offer delivery services for these cakes, as they came in handy during my nephew’s birthday.
From the moment my sister picked up the phone, she was greeted with friendly customer service. Even better, the delivery itself was fast since the cakes were pre-made.
Aside from cakes, Ajwa Bakery also offers an impressive selection of sweet and savoury pastries. Among these is their cheese tarts, which were highlighted by their regulars during our interview for being perfectly flaky and creamy.
Our only gripe with this store is that they don’t feature their other pastries on their website. You’ll have to visit their physical store just to check what they have for that specific day.
Fortunately, their store is always pleasant to visit because it’s well-maintained and the products are organised.
Never disappointing
The custom cake was beautiful and affordable. Alhamdulillah children and teacher liked the cake. Never disappointing.”

Fast delivery, very friendly staff
“Fast delivery, very friendly staff. I wish to have a different theme cake, but due to my mistake, I have to change the order to something else.
But still, the dinosaur cake is very beautiful and the taste is good – it’s a three-layer moist chocolate cake. Overall good experience dealing with this bakery shop”

2. TK Bakery @Kota Damansara

Products: Egg tarts, chicken pie, kaya butter puff, cakes, longevity buns
Location: 48-1, Jalan PJU 5/11
Contact: +60 3-6140 6218
Business hours: Daily from 7:30 AM to 10:00 PM
TK Bakery has been a staple in our household because of their widely beloved egg tarts. To this day, we still order these because of its silkiness, flakiness and its perfect level of sweetness.
We also like how the bakery differentiates itself by focusing on well-known Chinese pastries. For instance, you’ll find products you won’t find in common bakeries like chicken floss lotus, red bean bun, curry puff, etc.
They also offer longevity buns, which are Cantonese pastries commonly offered to elders on their birthday to symbolize long life. These pastries are filled with red bean paste, and the buns themselves are plush!
Moreover, we appreciate how they offer common pastries as well, like croissants, whole wheat bread, sausage buns, etc. And though their selection is varied, shopping in their bakery is never overwhelming because everything is well-organised.
We’re just disappointed to hear from some of their regulars that they experienced subpar service. Some complained that they weren’t assisted, while others were shown rude behaviour, so we hope TK Bakery can improve on this aspect.
Good variety of bread and buns
“We dropped by this place for some buns and moon cakes. They have a good variety of bread and buns as well as egg tarts and cake. The staff were helpful and we got moon cakes at a discount.”

Gold standard of egg tarts and siew baos
“The absolute gold standard of egg tarts and siew baos. The ratio of pastry to egg/filling is perfect (for me – might be too pastry-heavy for some). Pastry crusts are also perfectly flaky. Don’t think there’s much room for improvement when it comes to these two.
Can’t really comment on the rest of their stuff – looks good, but can’t tear myself away from just getting a box of egg tarts and siew baos every time.”

3. Lachér Patisserie HQ @ Kota Damansara

Products: Tarts, tiramisu, shortcakes, petit gâteau
Location: 17, Jln Teknologi 3/3A
Contact: +60 3-6141 0888
Business hours: Daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Lachér Patisserie is one of the fancier bakeries—patisserie, rather—you’ll find in Kota Damansara. One thing we love is that all of their products look aesthetically pleasing, from their shortcakes to their tarts, etc.
One of their menu’s standouts is their pistachio tiramisu, which stays true to the original recipe by featuring mascarpone cream and an espresso-infused cake. The pistachio bits are the cherry on top, as they’re generously drizzled onto the pastry.
We also appreciate how they offer seamless delivery services. They also offer same-day delivery and pick-up if you place your order on their official website before 2:00 PM.
As much as we love their beautiful cakes, we do find them slightly pricier. However, we can confirm that you’ll be getting your money’s worth with their products, as we’ve ordered from them ourselves!
Also, we wish that they would diversify their pastry selection more because they’re mostly focused on cakes at the time of writing.
My go-to birthday cake shop!
“Very delicious cakes, ordered Hazelnut praline a few weeks back and Gateau Fromage a few days ago. Executed very nicely! My go-to birthday cake shop. Delivery was on time.”

High quality ingredients
“Exceptional online ordering service. Cancelled my first order (Needed to change to a different cake). Was immediately issued a gift card to make a new purchase.
The strawberry shortcake was exceptional. Very high-quality ingredients made with skillful techniques. Will definitely repeat.”

4. True Bakery

Products: Mango oolong shortcake, tiramisu, pandan panna cotta,
Location: No. 35-1, Jalan PJU 5/10
Contact: +60 14-853 5107
Business hours: Daily from 8:30 AM to 9:30 PM
True Bakery brings a sense of nostalgia—it’s like those bakeries we visited as a child where we’re in awe of various freshly baked goodies behind glass counters. Their selection is one of the most impressive ones we’ve seen in Kota Damansara, featuring buns, doughnuts, cakes, etc.
From what we’ve tried so far, the quality of their pastries and breads are fantastic, and many regulars echo our sentiment. One product that got a lot of love was their croissants, as customers pointed out how perfectly flaky they were.
We also liked how they came with different fillings like almond and pistachio. Aside from that, their tarts also caught our attention because of the fresh fruits they use as toppings.
True Bakery is also an accessible place to get fresh pastries because it’s located near a mall and a tram station. Plus, they’re open daily for more than 12 hours!
One thing they could improve is their cake selection because they only offer five flavours: banana, vanilla, matcha, pandan and chocolate. They don’t offer choices for different sizes, so we felt a bit limited.
Nice pistachio pastry
“Nice pistachio pastry. The cream inside is cold and refreshing. I forgot the price, but it’s below RM10. I’ll come back to try other products!”

Serves the best buns and pastries
“By far, this bakery serves the best buns and pastries ever, as they use Japanese ingredients and baking methods. The ones my Family and I loved to buy are the taro bun and pumpkin-filled buns.
The only downside of this place is that it’s tough to get a parking spot. You’ll be lucky if you get one nearby.”

5. Wheatcraft Artisan Bakery

Products: Bagels. Honey oat flax, scones, Danish pastries, tiramisu
Location: 26-1, Jalan PJU 7/16
Contact: +60 3-6140 6218
Business hours: Daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Wheatcraft is a go-to of ours for when we need to restock loaf bread for the entire family. We love their healthy honey oat flax because aside from featuring an interesting texture, it’s flavourful on its own.
Another thing we’re fond of is Wheatcraft’s breakfast offerings. Among these is the jalapeno cheese bagel, which they praised for its creaminess and subtle kick.
Regulars have also noted the authenticity of their croissants during our interviews. They highlighted the perfect flakiness and puffiness of the pastry, as well as the sweetness with regard to the almond variant.
What caught our attention the most about their selection, however, was their Danish pastries. Their use of fresh fruits such as strawberries, peaches, and blueberries is commendable, and it justifies the slightly pricier rates they charge.
Speaking of, the price range is our main gripe with this bakery. But at the same time, we understand that their products aren’t mass-produced—plus, they have the quality to show for it!
The smell of freshly baked bread will ensure you remember your visit
“Wheatcraft is a great place to go to for a quick coffee break to a hearty meal with the variety of offerings that they have. The interiors are chic, and the smell of freshly baked bread will ensure you remember your visit.
The dry pan mee with their own sourdough noodles is incredibly balanced (pro tip: get the flat noodles as the flavors will cling onto each noodle better) with a perfect complement of soup and fish balls.
Patrick and Jay were also incredibly friendly and provided quite literally the best service we’ve ever received, giving expert opinions on the dishes and how best to get them! Will be coming back for sure.
Definitely worth going to when you’re visiting KL for the first time.”

Go-to place for bagels and bread
“This has been my go-to place to shop for bagels and bread. Been bulk buying my loaves of bread there. So today, I ordered The Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Dry Pan Mee. Both were good.
My son enjoyed his grilled cheese sandwich despite the onions in it, but he was able to finish it in one sitting. Their tomato soup was really delicious. Dry Pan Mee’s garlic chili oil was awesome! I kept on adding to my Pan Mee. Yummy!”
